The BI Guy's Little Guide to Big Data

Language: English
Event Type: Online
Online Meeting URL:

You know Pig is more than a farm animal and that Hive is not some ultra-hip bar. You've beyond the buzz words and the word count demos. Now…you're ready to figure out how it all fits in. In this session we will review common integration scenarios, proven patterns and best practices for integration Big Data solutions into your existing data warehouse and BI architecture. Learn how you too can ride the Big Data wave without reinventing the wheel to both enhance the information you currently deliver while solving problems that were previously unapproachable. -- -- Chris Price is a Sr. BI Consultant with Pragmatic Works based out of Tampa, FL. He has a B.S. in MIS and a MBA, both from the Univ. of South Florida. He began his career as a developer working his way into a software architect role before being bitten by the BI bug. His current focus is on ETL and Data Integration, Data Quality and MDM, SSAS, SharePoint and Big Data. He regularly speaks at SQL Saturdays, Code Camps and other community events. He has authored multiple whitepapers and books and served as technical editor for a range of BI topics. You can follow Chris on his blog at or on Twitter at @BluewaterSQL.
